Coming Attractions: RPGs      
And now to the first of 2008's most promising MMORPGs. The PC version of Age of Conan just been delayed so Funcom can add polish. It's now out on 20th May, by which time you should be able to see your face in it, with the Xbox 360 game "to follow".

Time stands still for those of you playing massively-multiplayer online games, but we get dizzy and fall over when trying to keep up with what's going on. So, in an effort to catch the news before it runs away from us, we've cobbled together some recent genre-specific announcements for you.
 
SCi/Eidos takes on Conan      
Putting "strong faith in the sales potential" of the MMO title, SCi/Eidos will publish the boxed product of Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures, while Funcom get to keep the digital distribution rights and fill their coffers with subscription fees.
 
Conan topples GTA IV in Europe      
It now seems safe to suggest that Age of Conan is the most successful MMO launch since World of Warcraft. Check out our launch week verdict for more on the game, and expect a full review in the coming weeks.
 
GDC: Funcom's new MMO      
Set in the present day, the game is currently only confirmed for PC, though apparently an Xbox 360 version isn't out of the question. A release date has not been mentioned as yet.

You'd like us to tell you, and we would like to! In fact, we already sort of have - having taken the PS3 version apart just before Christmas when we (foolishly) imagined that our GBP 200 decision to import it would be miles more expensive than the local equivalent.

Of course, with the game this dependent on the quest system, it stands to reason that the system better be pretty darned robust. "Our quests are tremendously diverse," Kaplan said. "Some are designed to be finished in a half-hour, others, in a week. Some quests are always available, others appear and disappear randomly. Some are timed, others will only be seen a few times and disappear for three months."
